Selection and rejection

 

I like this picture but I think it’s too close and I would have to put writing on my front cover over the top of the image which is something I didn’t want to do.

 

I like this image, this could be a picture I would use because of the position and there is plenty of room above my model for the masthead.

I don’t like this picture because my model looks like she is slouched.

 

 

I don’t like this picture because you can see the box my model is sat on.

 

I like this image is good and allows plenty of room for my masthead and text around it.

I like this image but there is a lot of light on my models shoulder. I think her hair looks abit frizzy too.

I really like this image, I like the pose and the fact my model is pouting, this will attract teenage girls to my magazine because this is a common pose for 'selfies'

This is my favourite image and I really the fact my model has her lips slightly open it is a very good effect and I totally think this would be a image for my front cover, she looks very natural and like she isn't posing for it. It gives me plenty of room for my masthead and for writing around it.

Photo Shoot 1

My first photo shoot went well, i have found out that natural lighting works really well when using photos for a front cover. i have also learnt where i need reflectors and what angles are best to take photos from. i will use these tips on my next photo shoot.

Photo Shoot plan 1

Who will you use as a model? Think about the look you want... do you want male, female or both?
I will use a female as my model because i think girls are more likely to pick up a magazine rather than boys. My model will be Kayley Salter.

Where will you take the photograph? Location?
My photos will be taken on a black background to make the colours stand out on the text i am going to use on my front cover.

What costume do you want you model to wear? Think about colour and representation...
Kayley will wear a denim jacket and a white t-shirt with a quote and picture on the front.

What about make up?
Natural make up with her eyebrows drawn on and red lipstick.

Do you need/want any props?
No

I have created a power point showing my research into other magazine front covers and contents pages, it has helped me understand what i should and shouldn't use when i create me own. I think this was a really good idea and i have defiantly benefited from this!
